MoU with Depilex Smileagain Foundation

Sustainable Development Initiative (SDI) provides a platform for planning, designing, and implementing various programs for the students of UMT to learn and perform the art of community focused leadership, for which SDI signed MoUs with Development organizations working in Pakistan.
Keeping in view the above, Sustainable Development Initiative(SDI) and Depilex Smileagain Foundation joined hands on November 8th, 2021 for giving our students the true spirit of community services. Ms. Masarrat Misbah, (Founder and Chairperson, Depilex Smileagain Foundation) and Mr. Khalid Naqi (Director, OCLP) signed this MoU. We would also like to extend our gratitude to Dr. Naveda Kitchlew (Senior Faculty, HSM) for joining and witnessing the MoU on behalf of the University of Management and Technology.
Depilex Smileagain Foundation (DSF) was conceptualized in 2003 as a support and assistance group for women who are victims of domestic violence with special emphasis in the area of deliberate acid and kerosene burning. DSF is committed to provide the acid survivors not only with medical care and assistance but also an adequate chance to become productive, self-reliant members of the society that has ostracized them.
The objective of this MOU is to develop a general framework to facilitate cooperation between the parties in specific areas and complement efforts as set forth in the MOU in order to;
- Promote the urge of social entrepreneurship among the students of UMT.
- Promote the provision of quality education and training on social entrepreneurship to students.
- Promote the spirit of nation-building and sustainable social change for a strong and prosperous Pakistan.
Together both parties will engage students in various on and off campus activities where UMT students will not only develop value based skills but also serve others.
