MoU with Almaida Welfare Trust

Sustainable Development Initiative (SDI) provides a platform for planning, designing, and implementing various programs for the students of UMT to learn and perform the art of community focused leadership, for that SDI signed MoUs with 33 organizations working in the development sector and so far our 300+ students have served 26,000+ hours is community services with our partner NGOs.
Keeping in view the above, Sustainable Development Initiative(SDI) Al-Maida Welfare Trust joined hands on November 04th, 2020 for giving our students the true spirit of community services. Mr. M. Ali Khawaja (President Al-Maida Trust Pakistan) and respected Mr. Khalid Naqi (Director, OCLP) signed this MoU.
Al-Maida Trust is a not for profit organization. The vision of this organization is to build a community where everyone has access to good quality, nutritious food, understands the consequences of hunger and poor nutrition and is committed to creating a stronger, healthier Pakistan. The organization believes in engaging the community and involving those who serve in finding solutions to eliminate hunger and food insecurity. It believes the root causes of hunger must be addressed to realize our long-term goal of eliminating hunger. Al-Maida Trust has many dasterkhwans all over Pakistan where three time meals are served to the needy.
Due to their hard work and community services during Covid-19, Al-Maida Trust was awarded "THE SHAN-E-PAKISTAN Award" by President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi.
Together SDI and Al-Maida Trust will engage UMT students in various on and off campus activities where UMT students will not only develop value based skills but also serve others.
