International Collaboration for Community Engagement
Aug 10, 2021
Under the vision of president UMT, Sustainable Development Initiative started working with the vision to transform positive energies of our students towards community service and volunteering and build socially responsible empathetic future leaders.
In reference to its vision an agenda was presented to include one credit hour in all undergraduate programs’ roadmap, SDI also signed MoUs with Not for profit organizations to engage students in 80 hours of community service and so far students from two schools, Dr. Hassan Murad School of Management (HSM) and Institute of Aviation Studies (IAS) have served 60,000+ hours in community service as part of their program’s road.
It gives us immense pleasure to inform that so far we were engaging our student with National NGOs, but our current batch of 150 students will be joining, American International Education Federation and Global Women Development Network two of the prestigious development organizations working in United States through our partner Community Development Foundation for their 80 hours of community services, this is a big achievement for SDI as it was not only providing the insight of National development sector to UMT students but now students will learn what international organizations are working for the agenda.
